THANK YOU

Dear All,

On behalf of the Bamburgh Christmas Lights Committee, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers who have once again ensured a magnificent festive display this year. Your dedication and hard work are valued.

The Bamburgh Christmas Lights rely on the support of volunteers and the generous donations of both locals and visitors. If you would like to contribute, your support would be greatly appreciated. Without people’s generosity there would be no Bamburgh Christmas Lights.

To make a donation, please scan the QR code on the Bamburgh Parish notice board, or visit their website on https://www.bamburgh.org.uk/news/bamburgh-christma...

We are immensely grateful to our core team of volunteers — Alex Nixon, John Turnbull, Alex Tait, Peter Darling, Tony Mitchell, Nik Merridew and Stuart Baillie and the invaluable use of the cherry picker from Bamburgh Hall Farm — for their time, effort, and expertise. Thanks also to Rosie Barber for providing the straw bales for the Nativity scene. Thompsons Garage, Seahouses, for their continued support in arranging the transport of the tree each year.

Our gratitude extends to St Aidan’s Church for their blessing of the Christmas switch-on and the Nativity scene, which remains a cherished highlight of the event each year.

Our Thanks go to the Bamburgh Castle Walled Garden for their beautiful contribution to the display, and to Francis and William Watson Armstrong and Bamburgh Castle Estates for the use of the Grove and their unwavering support over the years.

Our appreciation also goes to R. Carter & Sons and The Victoria Hotel for keeping our workers sustained with coffee — providing warmth in all kinds of weather!

A special thank-you as well to Alan McFarlane, Seahouses Electrician, for his invaluable electrical support. This year, Alan has been asked to switch on the lights in recognition of his outstanding fundraising efforts and represents the Seahouses First Responders. Alan ensures that the defibrillator boxes across the area are maintained, updated, and ready for use in an emergency. Additionally, to local Miles Patterson for helping to switch the lights on.

We would also like to thank Bamburgh Parish Council for providing the Christmas tree and to Joan Mitchell for managing the administration of the Christmas Lights account.

The Bamburgh Heritage Trust for the wonderful addition of a Christmas Tree in the phone box.

Finally, thank you to everyone who joined us for the switch-on evening — it was wonderful to see both familiar and new faces celebrating together.

With warmest regards,

Angela Darling, Nora Friar, and Alex Nixon
