Bamburgh is set in beautiful Northumberland countryside, approximately
midway between Berwick upon Tweed and Alnwick (and some sixteen miles
from both). It is 39 miles from the nearest airport (Newcastle) and
4.4 miles from the nearest railway station (Chathill). For InterCity
services, residents must first travel to Alnmouth or Berwick upon Tweed.

DIRECTIONS
BY CAR
Travelling northbound on the A1 turn off
at Adderstone services and follow the B1341 Bamburgh
is about 5 miles or you can take the B1342 if travelling southbound.
Alternatively the
B1340 coastal road that takes you on a
more Leisurely route
directly into Bamburgh.
BY BUS
There are three main
bus routes into Bamburgh serviced
by Arriva, 500, 401 and the 501 travelling

Holiday Arriva Bus Service to Bamburgh from Newcastle 2007
Tickets :- £4 for
senior citizens and £ 8 for a family ticket – up to 5 people including 1 or
2 adults and at least one child
Journey :- Bus travels from
Newcastle to Gosforth and Morpeth then on to Alnwick Gardens before
progressing to Seahouses and Bamburgh. Buses will leave Bamburgh at
twenty five minutes to twelve and twenty five minutes past two. The
last bus to Bamburgh leaves Alnwick Gardens at 4 o’clock and the return
journey leaves Bamburgh at ten minutes to five. This service runs
every Sunday and Bank holiday Monday until the end of September.

The main station on mainline routes is
at Newcastle, there is also a regular train service into Berwick
and Alnmouth and an occasional service stopping off at Chathill. For
